Bohemian Babydoll for Kids Clothes Week

I made this little number for my friend’s daughter who just celebrated her Third Birthday.  I wish I could photograph her wearing it because she is just about the cutest little thing I’ve ever seen!  IMG_8171

This is the Bohemian Babydoll Dress by Elegance & Elephants.  I’ve had my eye on it for a while–the idea of zero closures is a big selling feature for me when browsing patterns to purchase!

Plus, the curved bodice and high/low hem trend had me intrigued.

This was a very easy pattern to follow for the most part.  The initial instructions for the sleeves had me a bit confused, so I immediately opted for the second method for sewing them.  It’s very nice to have options, because sometimes certain ways of doing things just make more sense.  That said, I screwed up the alternate sleeve sewing method TWICE before I got it right—I think I’ll blame preggo brain on that one!

I used a Robert Kaufman Linen/Cotton blend fabric in a lovely sky blue for the main fabric, and a blue and white cotton toile for the lining and hem facing.

I think it turned out really sweet and I can’t wait to see it on the Birthday Girl!  I will likely be making one for Miss P and #3, and will definitely share it here when that happens 🙂
